Getting Down at the Barre: Sweat Pink NJ First Event

Launch of Sweat Pink New Jersey

We were laughing-well kind of; our thighs were quivering, and I think I found a new muscle in my butt that now hates me but it was such a fun time! Last night, Sweat Pink NJ was hosted at Revolution 360 for our Sweat Pink Chapter Launch.

Sweat Pink

Sweat Pink is a community of active women (and men!) globally who love to sweat and socialize! It is a fitness group will include outdoor adventures, meetups, and monthly workouts. We just are a bunch of health enthusiast who wants to support other health enthusiasts. It really is that simple. People always ask me what it is? Yep, no catch! There are so people who just want to motivate and inspire other people. I am one of them, and if you are too then you should join us and become a Sweat Pink Ambassador!

Sweat Pink Ambassador?

I’ve been a Swear Pink Ambassador for three years. After my second Blogfest high I wanted to be more involved with the active women that I have over the last three years known through Social Media and blogfest.

(Have you heard about Blogfest? If you are a health enthusiast or fitness influencer, I URGE you to come, and we can meet in real life!)

These group of women are so supportive, inspiring and encouraging and just encouraging to be in a group of amazing women’s from all sorts of backgrounds, states and fitness passions.

We are stronger together, and I have never gotten such a sense of community like Sweat Pink.  When the email blast came out they were looking for Chapter Leaders I jumped up and raised my hand.

New Jersey has so many great opportunities to get active and coordinating events to have women from different backgrounds come together, and Sweat seemed like a great idea for 2018.

I set my goals, resolutions or whatever at the beginning of the year and the Top 3 are to get women together to help each other. I have some fantastic plans, and God is laying out some exciting things in the near and distant future in this area.

When the ladies at Sweat Pink started to help me set up the group, I was a lot anxious, but if all our events are like the Launch, I have no worries.

Revolution 360

First I had to find an equally empowering studio to have our first event! Revolution 360 is a Boutique gym in Moorestown, NJ my hometown.  My little town had grown a lot from when I was a kid. Part of that growth is gyms like Revolution 360 which is just walking distance from my old childhood home.

Nilsa is the owner and teaches lots of challenging sweat dripping classes. What I LOVE about Revolution is we don’t play any baby weights there; it is an all but one guy staff and of certified amazing instructors.  We all have our own weight loss fitness journey, and we do not play.

Resolution 360 offers a variety of classes: Strength and Conditioning, Booty Barre, Zumba, Butts and Guts, Cardio Circuit (yours truly teaches), Bootcamp, Tabata and always adding great and new classes that get members results.

Showing women how to properly train with heavy weight and getting rid of all gym intimidation;  While Nilsa starts to kick your butt once she turns on that mic.  This woman is a truly and genuinely loves to serve people.  She has a servants heart and will go out of her way for anyone that she meets. She is an amazing instructor and loved by everyone.

Booty Barre at Revolution 360

Nilsa did not disappoint in the least.  There were moments in the class I had to close my eyes and pray and then others where we felt super sexy doing some hip shaking and then again tears of pain-in a right way and oh and we were cracking up. (An extra ab workout)

The group of women who came was so fun, outgoing and although some ran, spin, or only took group classes.  We were got together and had a good time.

Now the event was Barre Now Wine Later, but there was no wine. It was Bring Your Own, and nobody drank. So, we sipped on water and ate some snacks and reflected on the last 45 minutes of getting our butts kicked.

These Ladies came out for a good workout, to hang out with other active women and have a good time which is what I hope for our events. I met some new Ladies who rather be moving on a Saturday night then sitting on the couch- my kind of women and will be adding to our Sweat Pink NJ family.

Sweat Pink New Jersey 2018

We have so much planned for this chapter and are working on some fun events, team races, and nutrition workshops.  I am eager to meet more women and celebrate each other this year.  If you are an active women whatever that activity may be and you want to get busy, you should join us at our next event until then you can find us on facebook!

Are you looking for a group to just chill or get sweaty with active women?

What’s Bible and Bootcamps?

Have you ever looked back at where you’ve been and it all of a sudden make sense? That’s has been the last few months for me.  A few years ago, I was lost (Spiritually and Mentally), depressed, anxious, creeping up the scale and desperate for a way out.  It wasn’t until I completely surrendered all aspects of my life and sought God’s counsel that I found a direction to take.  Then a year ago almost to the day I had a “God idea.” I was scrolling through Facebook and an add for my current college popped up. I never thought of going back to school but as if I was forcefully pushed I pressed “Send me more info.” Within minutes I got a phone call that has literally changed this lost girl to having a clear vision that gets even more high definition by the day. Honestly, if I list the blessings that God has given my family and I in the last year it is nothing short of amazing and all God’s glory.  Well, here I am two years later with a degree in Fitness and Exercise Science.  Two NASM certifications and amazing opportunities to lead people to God’s kingdom through fitness.

Taking HUGE Risk

I believe so much in this vision God has given me to build a community of women that glorify God by honoring their temple and need to be fueled by faith.  After  prayers of “How”, “Why” and “Who.” God led me to an amazing team to get all of these floods of ideas into an amazing program that can help women:

  1. Increase their dependence on God through their weight loss journey
  2. Lose weight efficiently and effectively while learning lifestyle habits to help them honor their temple.
  3. Increase energy so they can be the best soldiers for God’s army and gaining confidence to lead people to Christ.

I wasn’t sure how that was going to look but slowly and methodically just as God has ordained and with a lot of inspiration my team and I have been drafting up an amazing program for women to use everywhere.

I wanted to make sure that my program addressed all fitness levels and spiritual needs.  My six-week transformation program has become a customized program that is designed uniquely for each women’s strengths and weaknesses.  Giving you all the tools that you need to make the transformation in your life.

Bibles and Bootcamps will be a Six Week Transformation Program. We will walk daily for Forty-two days in the Word and increase our dependence on Christ on our fitness journey.

Bibles and Bootcamp is an intense, unique, six-week transformation to boost your potential to get dramatic results inside and out. Bibles and Bootcamp has a three-step approach.

  1. Spiritually and Mentally we will help you change your thought patterns, increase your dependence on God and enhance your self-confidence and get rid of beliefs that have you held you back before.
  2. Nutritionally we are going to show you what to eat that really fuels you.  Educating you and on healthy eating guidelines and providing a Biblically based meal plan that will help support you in your goals.
  3. Physically we are going to apply the spiritual discipline and living sacrifice into a customizable workout program that increases your strength, flexibility, core, and endurance.

Bibles and Bootcamps will also be delivering some invaluable tools with our six-week program.

  • 6 week program
  • Grocery list of approved foods
  • Healthy Eating guidance, recipes, and accountability
  • Customizable workouts delivered on any device or in print
  • Daily tips and training
  • Group Q&A

I have pulled every tool out for this to be an amazing program. Utilizing my knowledge in Fitness Exercise Science.  Several groups Beta testing and tweaking. Also, teaming up with some amazing Christian Women authors.  Our series will tackle Food Fixation, Dependence on God and Nutrient Based Eating.

I’ve researched and spent countless hours exploring what Christian women need to stop sabotaging their efforts and start thriving.  What I have found that a key factor is your Spiritual relationship with God and a proven workout.  My Beta testers’ are also seeing some pretty amazing results.

“De is amazing I can tell you! She is a precious woman of God and she knows her stuff…she got me started on my fitness journey earlier this year and I lost some serious pounds (over 40) under her direction.” -Ammie B.

“Bibles and bootcamp has been an amazing experience. This is my first time putting my faith and Fitness together in one and the feeling is amazing. I have already starting see results after only 3 weeks and I’m excited for what left to come.”

— Dana

“I love it all. The nutrition is simplified. The workouts are fun, yet challenging and De is an awesome coach & spiritual support. ”

— V.T.

I cannot wait to see what this program does for you in your life.  I am honored and privileged to get to cheer you on the entire way.  If you’re looking to find a way to Honor God’s temple at it’s best and tired of the on again off again plans and looking for something that is going to sustain you inside and out than you must join us for our First program! Disconnected Community

I haven’t done a FaithFueled™ Friday in a long time it’s been so busy with school that writing is the last thing I want to do lately.  After a phone call with my friend I had to dust off the keyboard and share my thoughts. The other day I was speaking to a friend who just moved to a new state. She is having a hard time making new friends and thought the Church that her family decided to attend would be a great place to look.

The other day I was speaking to a friend who just moved to a new state. She is having a hard time making new friends and thought the Church that her family decided to attend would be a great place to look.

Why wouldn’t she believe that people of the same beliefs would want to fellowship?

She has been there for a few months and has made lots of effort to be apart of the Church community only to find there is no such thing as Church community at her Church at least not how we would have it defined.

“No one hangs out with anyone at Church they come on Sunday’s to worship and then go about their lives,” After she said that; it made me think my Church is very similar. We worship together on Sunday and then don’t check in until the following Sunday unless you’re in Bible Study. It’s kind of like out of sight out of mind which isn’t a real relationship but more of an acquaintance. We know very little about the people we worship with other than surface things. There is no longer that sense of community that the Church once brought to families and towns.

I have been attending my Church for four years and have only been invited to three families homes outside of a Church function; (and I include a Direct Sales party) if not, it would only be two invites in four years, and that’s just sad. Or is it? Is this commonplace? When did the Church stop being a place for believers to fellowship and do a life and a place to just check in every Sunday?

“Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.” Acts 2:46-47

The church isn’t what it used to be!

In Biblical days churches, temples and synagogues were the epicenters for most towns. It’s where the taxes were collected, food was given, functions were held, and people gathered together daily to fellowship. Your Church family was like your extended family and the fellowship didn’t end on Sunday you saw these people in your life on a daily basis.

The Church is no longer an integral role in society. It’s not a place where people come to every day but usually on the day of worship. Then we go off to our own lives, friends, and families. The bonds that we uniquely share in our love for Jesus and place of worship is where it ends.

Check in at Church

Now, I have to be fair in the four years that I have been at my Church I have not done my due diligence to grow and foster relationships. In the first two years as I attended my Church I would reach out often. I had IF gatherings in my home, bible study walks. I tried everything to find some Christian friends and invite them to my home. The experiences were great but never really made connections; not long lasting.

Why? We have lives outside of our Church Identity. In our busy society, most of us are too busy for friends much less to deal with people in our Church that we barely know. We get caught up so much in our things to do that we don’t reach out to connect with each other. Not just at Church but in all of the society.

This is another way for the enemy to attack he makes us think that the people at the Church are wrong and we don’t need the Church for our salvation. We do! We need the accountability, reminders, and direction. People can be judgemental, but if you “don’t have any sinners who attend your Church, you may want to find a new Church.” That is why we are their for our redemption we are not perfect we are people we all have our struggles. Jesus loves us all the same and wants us to be together in His kingdom one day.

I can no longer justify other peoples actions affecting my church attendance. I don’t attend my Church for the weekly check-in but to get some time to praise, worship and honor God. Although, I don’t feel community there I still attend because of the Message. Recently, God has been pricking my heart on this subject I can’t continue to be like others and not followup. It’s one of those situations it’s never the job it’s always the people. There will always be people but if you expect people to treat you like you’d treat yourself you’re going to be disappointed. You must show grace to fellow members and even sometimes mercy.

Above everything, love one another earnestly, because love covers over many sins.

1 Peter 4:8

A lonely society

We are living in a lonely world. We can be surrounded by people but disengaged on our phone. We can stand in a crowd but feel utterly alone because we as a society are isolating ourselves. Filling our time with things to do instead of meaningless relationships when we are all seeking a meaningful relationship. We were meant to be with each other, lead each other, teach each other and do life together. The sad part is most of us feel alone yet we won’t reach out to each other to fill the loneliness.

“I appeal to you, brothers and sisters, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree with one another in what you say and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly united in mind and thought.”

1 Corinthians 1:10

Disconnected Community
It’s also apparent with the amount of time spent on Social media to fill our need for relationships. I am very guilty of that after I went to countless Bible studies, events, and opportunities to fellowship. I would leave each time knowing that the connection ended there so, I went to the internet.

Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position. Do not be conceited.
Romans 12:16

Need more than a Virtual Relationship

I am intentionally (and unintentionally) in lots of Facebook groups for all of my interest with the common motivator for joining is to connect with like-minded people. I have also been in Virtual Bible Studies, Mentorships, Accountability Groups and we all were there for the same thing companionship but if you were to get us in a room together not one of us would exchange numbers. Or, actually, follow up to get to know the person better.

I feel we are all living surface lives just doing enough to touch the surface never really getting to know someone. If we did if we followed up with connections, made phone calls and not text or emails. Sat down in person one on one and got to know somebody we may find that best friend that we crave.

So, what is keeping us from continuing these connections?

Get Up and Do Something

Effort and energy we have become such a lazy society that we don’t want the work of building and maintaining relationships we want surface friends. You can log on and log off when you want. You can only share the good and never the bad. There is no threat of if they’ll like you for who you are because you give them the who they want to see. The same goes for Church you show up dressed nice, proclaim your hallelujahs, make small chat before and after church and never follow up. Never put the extra effort or work it takes to create a community.

“For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ, we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others.”
Romans 12:4-5

Why not start now?

We need to unite people and not just over what hot political topic there is but we need to unite amongst ourselves if we are going to be God’s army. The enemy wants us to live separate, be surface and vain. He is trying to make us think “we’re connected” through our disconnected online relationship, but we are fooling ourselves. God has told us to fellowship together, sharpen each other and prepare to do battle together.

One day at Church invite someone over for brunch, get to know someone a little better than Sunday chit-chat. Reach out to them for coffee or a park date to learn and possibly grow in Christ together. Behind the screen, connections can be valuable, but we need to be with people in real time and do real life.

Don’t wait for the next Church function to reach out to your brother or sister in Christ. Although, the Church is no longer the epicenter of our life. Christ is, and we need to love each other as Jesus loves us. We need to know each other because we need to be prepared to unite and stand up when called. We must mend the brokenness of our Christian communities and keep the tight-knit and secure. The way we do that? You, start today and reach out to someone in your Church. Let’s start living a life of a real community.

How do you maintain community in your church? Do you find it hard to maintain relationships?

Not an Overnight Success: 7 things I’ve learned on my journey to lose 80 lbs.

I can’t believe that it has been another year. It seems both fast and long. For last years anniversary post check it out here! Two years seem like a long time but looking back it has flown. I started this blog three years ago as a Christian Mom Blog I didn’t know what I was doing then, and I still don’t know what “Christian Mom Blog” means but it has evolved over the last two years it has become a faith and fitness blog.

August 4, 2015

Devise your strategy, but it will be thwarted; propose your plan, but it will not stand, for God is with us. Isaiah 8:10

Two years today after trying on my own to figure out this daunting weight loss thing joined an online exercise program   It was exactly what I needed to get started a plan and some guidance. She also encouraged her members to take pictures to show progress, and I am grateful for those to look back at and see my progress. I would have never thought to do that. At the time I hated the idea, and the cost of a gym so, at home workouts worked for me. I also said that I would “never work out at a gym again,” haha.

Fast Forward

Fast forward two years and what I thought was going to be a temporary fix; I was going to get real skinny quick. Little did I know not only was I going to “get skinny” but it was going to be a roller coaster of highs and lows expectations and disappointments and an internal journey as well. It hasn’t all been bad.

Blessed through the Journey

This has also given me the opportunity to have fun adventures like working out with celebrity trainers and trying all kinds of new equipment, supplements, and tools.

Never Say Never

I am teaching group fitness classes at 5 am in the morning which I never imagined I would be up and moving at 5 am much less teaching other people too. I told my friend who kept referring me that I would never do group fitness and now that I have I absolutely love it.

A passion ignited

I am 10 weeks away from obtaining my degree in Fitness and Exercise Science, and I am working at an amazing gym (which I also said that I would never do; “work at a gym)”. I am learning so much from a great group of passionate trainers.

FaithFueled is a Lifestyle

Honoring my temple has now become my way of life how I live my life. The choices I make how I plan my day involves my mental space, health, exercise and healthy eating.

More than just a weight loss journey

I started on Periscope and Instagram just sharing about my journey which turned into a 30-day personal prayer challenge that I gave myself to honor my temple.  Those 30 days completely changed my perspective of how I can use God in my life. I had always put boundaries and limits on what I could pray.

Change in Purpose

I didn’t think God cared if I wanted to be skinny or not but through my prayers and devotion my want to be skinny changed for want to be healthy both including spiritually, physically and medically.  It gave me a passion for honoring my temple meaning what I put into it, how I treat it, who I involve in my emotional life and I went to the Bible for the lead in everything.

Stronger Together

I had a relationship with Christ before this journey but the peace I and intimacy that I never knew I craved has been met and continues to grow through this journey. When you turn to God for the little things you begin to turn to Him for everything and having a daily passionate relationship with God has been more fulfilling than being skinny or lifting a weight. The most exciting part of this journey is that I pray every day that I can be a light and bring glory to God through all that I do.

Humbled to be used

Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God–this is your true and proper worship. Romans 12:1

God has shown me in the last two year many women and some men that I have inspired through my journey. I am humbled and honored to serve God through fitness. It is amazing that in two years I have been able to change and transform and it is really truly because of God that I am where I am today. So, today I am celebrating the day that literally changed the course of my life. I can honestly say that I would not be where I am today. So, this is my physical change in the last two years Year to date, but I don’t think you can take a picture for the internal change this experience has had on my family and myself.

The things I have learned in two years

  1. Give it to God first don’t try to do it yourself you’ll save time and stress.
  2. Be consistent even if you don’t see progress.
  3. If it isn’t working try something different you don’t have to stick with the thing you started.
  4. Yes, food is important not only what you eat but how and when you eat it!
  5. Discipline is needed and accountability
  6. Regardless what stage you’re at love and appreciate where you are right now while you are working towards what you want and always remember your Why!
  7. The only fix is your mindset that quick and easy doesn’t cut it hard work is worth the reward.

What’s Next?

I now have a new goal to compete in a Fitness competition.  Similar to weight loss, the mental is hard, the workouts are hard, and the food is the worse. I want to quit from day to day, and the highs and lows are the same but I know I have the victory. It will take more time than I want but I will get there just like I got here.

Work in Progress

There is a lot I still have yet to learn and work on if not physically then spiritually and emotionally. By no means am I even finished I like to think of it as just getting started on the next chapter, and I am excited to see what is written. If I could leave anyone with any advice is if you haven’t started, start today because it’s just another step closer to your goals. Remember it takes time so give yourself

time!

How can I help you start your journey or encourage you?

Intermittent Fasting Lowdown

My Full Disclosure Policy

Intermittent Fasting has been pivotal in my weight loss

I have a confession I haven’t been 100% forthright in my weight loss journey.  For about ten months I have been intermittent fasting.  When people ask me how I lost 70 lbs, I always say it was through Pray, Eat Well and Exercise. It never occurred to me that Intermittent fasting had something to do with it too but looking back it probably has helped me tremendously.  It wasn’t until I was talking to someone about how I intermittent fast and she said, “Well, De that sounds like your secret formula.” I never thought of it like that because at this point it’s second nature I have been doing it for almost a year now.

Intermittent Fasting is an eating pattern that alternates through fasting and feasting periods.  Fasting has been practiced since Biblical days and now modern day science can give you a definition of the benefits of this longtime practice.  It is also prevalent in the Fitness and Health Industry, and now there is a resurgence of people fasting other than for Biblical purposes.

According to the National Institute of Health, there are so many benefits to fasting:

  • Reduces inflammation. Inflammation can have some adverse effects on the body. It’s the way your body responds to outside threats like stress, infection, or toxic chemicals. An overreaction can cause your body to “fight” itself which can lead to chronic diseases among other things.  Fasting has been
  • Optimize energy metabolism- your body uses what it has more efficiently during fasting.
  • Bolster brain function.  According to a National Institute of Health Study, “The behavioral responses to Intermittent Fasting are associated with increased synaptic plasticity and increased the production of new neurons from neural stem cells” (Lee et al., 2002). Meaning your brain sends signal better and creates new signals more often.
  • Protects against diabetes, cancers, heart disease there has been studies that intermittent fasting during chemotherapy has helped reduce the toxicity levels in cancer patients and improving they’re well during treatment. (Lee et al., 2012).
  • Protects against neurodegeneration (such as Alzheimer’s). When you are fasting your body will utilize fatty acids for energy; meanwhile, your brain is using ketone, amino acids, and other free fatty acids. Studies show that “a human can survive for 30 or more days in the absence of food.”  It has also been hypothesized that the process of Ketolysis that happens during prolonged fasting has had improved the aging process and had a positive effect on mice with Alzheimer’s disease.
  • Reduces obesity, hypertension, asthma and rheumatoid arthritis.
  • Fasting has the potential to delay aging

How I do it?

You’re going to find a lot of different methods.  Everyone has the secret sauce but if you do your research, follow common sense you can fast too.  Three methods of intermittent fasting can be found with lots of different names and variations, but I will give you the fundamentals.

There is the controversial 5:2 Method: Where you eat your calorie regimen for five days but two days consecutively you eat 500-600 calorie.

There is the 16/8 Method:  This method was popularized by Leangains and has been called “Leangains protocol”; You do a 16 hour fast and then an 8-hour feast or eating period.

There is the Eat-Stop-Eat Method: This is when you feast you fast for 24 hours 1-2 times per week.  It’s usually dinner to dinner, so you have overnight, but it’s still hard to withstand from food for 24 hours.

I do a combination of the 12/16/8 method and Eat Stop Eat Method.  It sounds very confusing but like anything, once you’ve been doing it for so long becomes second nature.  I do a 12 hour fast daily; kitchen curfew is 8:30 pm (which is late) and then the I don’t resume eating till after 8:30 am.  On arm days I typically do a 16 hour fast I will do kitchen curfew at 8:30 pm and then begin eating the next day at 12:30p.  On Sunday’s I usually do a stop to eat.  From Saturday dinner time to Sunday dinner time I fast. I’m not going to lie at; first, it was crazy hard, but now I don’t have an appetite until dinner Sunday.  I don’t usually do anything other than Church and nap. It’s a beautiful day to relax, fast and worship.

Why I do it? How

When I fast I feel better and I have more energy. I am not snacking all day, and it’s easier to hit my macros in my 8-12 hour feasting span. I plan fewer meals, and they are more massive and more nutrient dense to get all that I need.  Having lots of small meals has me in the mindset of continually nibbling, and I need to sit and eat meals if not I end up biting more than I intended. It helps to boost my metabolism as well while I am eating for my goals.  I have found it very useful in my weight loss journey and contribute it to my belly fat loss as well.

Should you do it?

If you are currently underweight or have a history of eating disorders, I would not recommend fasting.  If you want to try another approach at your nutrition and the way you eat I would try it for a week and see if it makes a difference.  Try it longer to have a lasting effect.  It’s really up to you, but I would inform myself before “joining a challenge.” The most adverse side effect of intermittent fasting is hunger.  Other than that it is beneficial unless you have a preexisting condition that prolonged fasting would effect such as diabetes.  With any nutrition program, you should consult your doctor first. Also, intermittent fasting is not going to replace getting prayer, rest, exercise and eating nutrient-dense food.  This is in addition to your existing exercise routine.

Where do you begin?

Begin with a 12 hour fast for at least three days a week and graduate as it gets easier.  Nothing crazy stop eating at a specific time every night and don’t begin again until 12 hours later.  I would also encourage you to drink up your water during this time it will help you with cravings and meet your hydration needs.  It’s that simple. The more complicated it, the less efficiently it is adapted.  You’ll know when you’re ready to try other methods of intermittent fasting.

Some basic considerations:

  • While fasting it is okay to drink, water, coffee, tea, and no sugar beverages.  I like to start my days off with BulletProof coffee which is Organic Coffee, 1 Tbsp. Coconut Oil, 1 Scoop of Vital Proteins Collagen and a little Cinnamon or Chai Spice Mix I don’t do Protein Shakes, Meal Supplements or Dairy Products while fasting
  • I thought breakfast is the most important meal of the day and it should not be skipped.  Breakfast is essential, but the positive effects of fasting on your body supersede the impact of well-balanced lunch.
  • Should I take supplements or medications while fasting? Most supplements and medications recommend consuming with a meal because they are fat-soluble. Of course, consult a physician, but you should probably wait until you resume eating to take your supplements and medications.
  • If you workout early in the morning and concerned about fasted workouts they are found.  There has been lots of research on the benefits of a fasted exercise.  I also recommend Branch Chain Amino Acids or BCAAs to drink before or during your workout.
  • I don’t want to lose my muscle gains.  Muscle gains are from proper protein intake.  During your feasting time, you should be making sure you are getting the appropriate amount of protein to nurture muscle growth and prevent loss. There have been studies that intermittent fasting will result in less muscle loss than if you restrict your caloric intake.
  • I don’t want to get Metabolic Damage from fasting and slow down my metabolism.  GRR!  Another lack of research that is going around I’m not sure if it’s to scare women or people don’t check their facts but short term quick boost metabolism.  It’s fasting for long periods of over three days that can cause damage and a suppressed metabolism.

Have you ever intermittent fasted?
