7 Reasons Palm Oil is the best fat for a Keto diet

What happened when I decided to try a Keto Diet

This month I tried a new diet and guess what happened? I lost weight! Yep, it’s true! I went on a diet and not just any diet but the currently trendy but been here for awhile diet- the Keto diet! Using the best types of fats in a Ketogenic diet like Palm Oil is key to the success and how it affects your body.  I had terrific results while doing the keto diet within two weeks I lost 3% body fat.  My weight didn’t change, but I am at pretty much a set point, and it doesn’t vary, but it really leaned out my body and gave me excellent muscle definition.

Why go on a diet?

I wanted to see what was the big hype. More than a few clients, have asked me about this diet that has recently become very trendy. Like most thing, people have been practicing it for many years. One of the oldest living cultures has been practicing a ketogenic diet for over 40,000 years which leads me to believe it is a sustainable diet.

Although, it’s been many years people have been practicing. Sometimes we are just slow to catch on, or a celebrity says, they did this, and then everyone else wants to do that because we are definitely celebrity status in our minds.

So what is the Ketogenic diet?

Simply put Ketogenic diet a diet that you manipulate your macronutrients differently than your custom diet. A Ketogenic diet can range from 60-75% Fat, 20-30% Protein and 5-10% Carbs.  Most people you see or free ebooks or keto calculators will calculate your macros at 75% Fat 25% Protein and 5% Carbs. No matter how you break it down the basic premise is High Fat (quality fats), Moderate Protein and very low carbohydrates.  When I tried the diet, I decided to do 60% Fat, 30% Protein and 10% Carbohydrates. My body type is now a Mesomorph, and I need a little more carbs to function, so I wasn’t comfortable dropping my carb intake to 5%the same things with the protein I didn’t want to consume low amounts of protein with the strength training that I do.  This may be the reason I felt so great while others suffer side effects. Although I stayed on the higher range, it was still within the parameters, so it counts.

Don’t you need carbs to live?

Yes, you need carbohydrates to live, but quality always matter. Also, information that people are basing their nutrition decisions and evidence-based science are two different things. Most people when you take the carbohydrates away that always scream, “DANGER!” usually out of fear and just common knowledge. If I hear, “I can’t live without bread and pasta!” one more time. People fail to think at one point in time, we did not have bread and pasta, and people survived for many years. I don’t like to think of restricting my carbs but the type I consume. I love carbs which don’t, but certain ones have an effect on me than other that I didn’t realize until doing keto.

The real deal is that you just don’t want to live without bread and pasta, but it doesn’t mean that it is DANGEROUS not to live without bread and pasta!  Hunter and gatherers of our four fathers not only survived but thrived from a diet similar to this because that is all they had to eat. Many previous diets had less grain and more protein including marine, vegetables, and fruits which made up the majority of their diet.  Usually eating high fatty meats and nuts.

Protein and produce!  You can get carbohydrates without bread and if you like fruit guess what you are probably getting all that you need. In a Keto diet, you are carbohydrates lower than the FDA daily recommendation. I feel that when it comes to nutrition, everyone is different and their needs are different.  I am not sharing my thoughts as a nutritionist but my experience on the Keto diet and how I feel.

How do you, Keto?

I would check out a reputable source to learn how to Keto.  I personally don’t feel comfortable sharing how to do it without specifics like your weight, height, age, lifestyle and other factors that affect your Keto Macros. What I can say is to “keto” or what people are referring to is the ketosis process that happens from the reduce carbohydrates and the way your body adjust to optimize and nourish your body.  With a high fat, moderate protein and low carbohydrate number that works for you and your body did right you can feel the positive benefits. I would ask a CERTIFIED nutritionist or dietician to help you out initially then you can probably figure it out yourself.

Side Effects of Keto

I believe the types of foods that I chose gave me positive results as well as side effects.  I was really apprehensive about getting what is known as the “keto flu” when starting. That was my biggest concern because who wants to suffer from the most common keto flu symptoms like sugar cravings, dizziness, irritability, poor focus and concentration, stomach pains, nausea, cramping, confusion, muscle soreness, and difficulty falling asleep. I have heard of lots of people getting these symptoms and didn’t want any parts of it.  Every day I was ready to be sick, and every day I woke up refreshed and felt terrific.  My intermittent fasting wasn’t even a struggle I didn’t feel any keto flu symptoms. One thing I did experience towards the end which really freaked me out was three days of no appetite.

I intermittent fast and usually around 10:30 am faithfully my stomach begins talking to me; on my final days of Keto my fasting time extended till the last day when I decided to refeed which I wasn’t hungry until almost 4:00 pm that was nearly 21 hours of fasting which I have never done so easily.  It was odd to feel satiated but I hadn’t eaten for almost an entire day.  Once I break my fast. I am usually ferociously hungry. Especially, after a good workout and that wasn’t the case the last days of Keto.

How I felt on Keto

I did feel the positive which most people don’t feel right away but by day 4 I felt very energized, clear-headed, and I have a horrible short-term memory, and it was noticeably improved. Even a coworker mentioned it to me that I wasn’t Ms. Forgetful that day because it’s that bad ya’ll. I really would forget my name if it weren’t so short.  But while I was on the Keto Diet, I felt very clear headed.

My energy level is usually low in the afternoon and I usually also take a nap. Something I immediately noticed I didn’t need my 1:30 rest while I was doing keto. The side effects that I had read and anticipated never affected me. I can only attribute it to that I already have a pretty “clean” diet or that quality of the food that I was eating. I really think it was the types of fats I chose too that made the difference.

What do you eat when you keto?

That was the hardest part my first week. What do I eat?  I wanted to do Keto without dairy.  I am susceptible to dairy and I didn’t trust being on a keto diet would cure my sensitivities.  The thing about cheese and keto they are a perfect marriage of high fat, moderate protein and low carbohydrates and cheese is just good guys. On my Pinterest board, I pinned lots of the recipes that I tried during my two weeks. My meals consist of salmon, eggs, avocados, dark meat (yeah baby), naked wings and fried things.  I had fried things, and it was so good! Most keto recipes/meal plans encouraged cheese so it was tough for me to figure out what could I use in my macros.

Another issue that I have as I am highly active.  My workouts are usually 5 to 6 times per week for at least 30 minutes a day.  I am a personal train five days a week and often demonstrate and sometimes join depending on my mood.  When calculating my macro’s I didn’t think I was setting myself up for success and really didn’t think I could live off 5% carbohydrates.  So, my macros looked a little different than your typical keto, but it also helped me to be able to fit my macros without dairy goodness.

The Best type of Fat for Keto Diet

Palm Oil is a vegetable oil that comes from the pulp of the fruit of Oil palm trees.  There are a few types of varieties. Naturally, it is very high in beta-carotene and much like carrots, it has an orange-yellow like hue.  It is saturated fat, say what? I thought those were bad! Well, people, we were misinformed in all actuality Palm Oil has been known to balance your cholesterol levels which are good for your heart.

Palm oil is not a typical cooking oil in the American Diet it is prevalent in other countries such as Africa, Southeast Asia and some countries in South America.  Its beginning to gain popularity because people are finding that there are so many benefits to this untapped oil.

While there are over 100 facts on Malaysian Palm Oil. I am giving you

Seven reasons Palm Oil is the Best Fat for Keto Diet

1. Great for blood flow

Malaysian Palm Oil is known as an Anti-Thrombotic which deters the formation of blood clots in blood vessels and veins.  Palm oil has shown very positive results in the study of rats to prevent clots from happening. This was very important in my husband recover from his Achilles surgery where one of the major concerns were possible blood clots.

2. Great for your gut health

Are you getting enough Vitamin K? Sometimes we are so focused on the macronutrients we don’t consider the micronutrients that we need to support our body and health?

Vitamin K is a healthy bacteria that is created in your gut.  It is one of those things that more is always welcomed especially with the modern diet.  This micronutrient is also attributed to helping with blood clotting and bruising. It has also been found that it helps reduce healing time for people.  Vitamin K deficiency can be life-threatening as it can make people resistant to the effects of antibiotics. Adding Palm Oil to your diet can increase Vitamin K in your body and reduce these adverse effects.

3. High in Omega 3’s and Antioxidants

That kind of rhymes and something that is good to remember. Fat is not just fat they aren’t made equally.  Palm oil is the best fat to use in a keto or any diet because it is rich in beta-carotene which is a nutrient that is concluded to help prevent cancer, increase your immune system to help fight diseases.

Omega 3 fatty acids are also a concentrated nutrient found in Palm Oil.  Omega 3s are recommended in all diets because the elements in Omega 3 fatty acids help maintain muscular structure in your body. There have also been studies that conclude that patients suffering from Alzheimer’s who had a diet high in Omega 3s fatty acids slowed down the loss of cognitive function. There are also strong associations with protecting the body from other muscular and degenerative joint diseases such as Arthritis.

4. Helps to Improve Energy Levels

Beta-carotene is excellent for your gut health, but it also helps to improve energy levels and increase hormonal balance in your body. Palm Oil contains over 15 times the beta-carotene than carrots and over 50 times than tomatoes.  It is power packed with carotenoids.

5. Helps to improve your vision

We have all heard that eating more carrots will help improve your eyesight.  The saturation of beta-carotene in Palm Oil has a similar effect to enhancing eyesight as carrots. A nutrient that we continue to talk about is the cause of improved vision. Beta-carotene acts as a protector of free radicals for our body.  It prevents the breakdown on our cells and protects the body from cell breakdowns and mutations associated with eyesight deterioration.

So don’t only eat your carrots but drizzle some Palm Oil on them too! There have been studies to show a strong correlation between the progression of cataracts and the consumption of beta-carotene.

6. Vitamin E

I didn’t care about Vitamin E until this weight loss journey. Now I am trying to get all that I can understand because my once full and youthful skin is showing the signs of aging. Mostly because of my weight loss of such a significant amount of weight and it is written all over my eyes. Like crows landed on them or something.

Anything that boosts the fountain of youth vitamin also known as Vitamin E is for me. The reason why vitamin E is so good for your skin is it has over eight antioxidants that protect your skin and body from the free radical damage we are exposed to daily.  Palm Oil is rich in Vitamin E and is great to not only protect your skin but also your heart and other vital organs.

7. Vitamin D

Vitamin D deficiency is becoming more prevalent in modern culture because of our lifestyles in indoor work, play, and home.  The sun is the best source of Vitamin D, but if you don’t get enough sun exposure, you can become deficient.

Vitamin D deficiency is not fun. It causes inflammation in your joints and possibly arthritis.  Palm Oil has a high concentration of Vitamin D and is a great way to supplement the deficiency.

How do I use Palm Oil in a Ketogenic Diet?

It can be used like any other oil. Fry- it is great because it does not oxidize easily, can withstand very high temperatures, saute with anything great because it has a neutral flavor, or make salad dressing. It’s pretty universal. I took advantage of all the goodness of palm oil and used it in a variety of things.

One thing that I made that was super easy during my two-week trial. Fried Brussels Sprouts are keto friendly and used the best fat for a keto diet; Palm Oil.

[amd-yrecipe-recipe:48]

Have you every had Friend Brussel Sprouts! Oh, my goodness, they are so good to take less than five ingredients, and they’re fried! Try these and let me know what you think!

Bounce and Bubbles

Bounce Fitt with Sweat Pink NJ

April has been such a busy month! Every weekend has been something exciting and new.  Last weekend, I got to introduce and reintroduce a fun new workout to our Sweat Pink New Jersey Chapter sisters!  Have you tried the new Bounce Fitt with Jessica! If you’re not local, you have probably seen or heard of the Bounce rebounding boots jump workout.   Think a fun hip hop class on floats because that’s how it feels to Bounce!  Bounce is a rebounding boot. Rebounding is the workout that we experienced.

It is said to, “reduces your body fat; firms your arms, legs, thighs, abdomen, and hips; increases your agility; strengthens your muscles overall; provides an aerobic effect for your heart; rejuvenates your body when it’s tired, and generally puts you in a state of health and fitness.”There are over 33 benefits linked to rebounding exercise.

The first questions that I always get is is bad for your knees.  It is said one of the benefits are “it provides an increased gravitational load and strengthens your musculoskeletal systems. It also is claimed to protect your joints from the chronic fatigue of exercising on hard surfaces.”  I did feel like I was floating, but the next day my right knee hurt.  I am sure it was from overcompensating for my left ankle, but I was able to jump while still healing.

Getting together at Retro Fitness Moorestown

We all gathered at Retro Fitness Moorestown who hosted Bounce Fitt Instructor Jessica Carabello and her crew!  We had so much fun dancing in bounce boots.  This workout was a very intense leg workout that had me crying out, “Oh Lord! My legs!” every set. My legs were on fire. Initially, I thought it was going to be hard on my ankle, although I pretty much feel every step on my left foot it wasn’t painful to Bounce in the boots.

Bounce Fitt with the Sweat Pink NJ SPAs

This group of ladies liked to move which made it so much fun.  The energy of the instructors was amazing they had us turning it up and had onlookers peeking in.  In between sets the Sweat Pink NJ SPA’s had an opportunity to try fizzique.  Everyone grabbed a can after a taste test!  I have been using fizzique in replace of protein shakes and as an energy boost for my long days.  I love the bubbles that’s my initial draw and then it’s boosted with protein which is a win for me too!  Protein is a great way to curb cravings and fuel my pre, during and post workouts.

Sipping on fizzique

fizzique is the only refreshing sparkling protein water on the market there is no other protein drink that has the fizz.  fizzique has a multi-patented technology that infuses protein they call it Protein Fizzology™. This unique fizzy protein water is not to be confused with a meal replacement it curbs cravings it does not replace a meal with just 20g of whey protein but it is very helpful to give you a boost of energy and satisfy cravings with its high protein content instead of the high carb snack that you really want to grab for that 2:30 snack.  It also does not smell, taste or give me the same reaction that other whey protein gives me. It does give me an energy boost like a cup of coffee would but without the crash.

Ways to Curb Your Craving!

My favorite flavor is Tropical Limon it also comes in Strawberry Watermelon.  Eddie B loves both, but he prefers the Tropical Limon- “if I have to choose.”  I have been packing these when I train at the gym.  Sometimes when you’re training client back after back, you have no time to stop and eat.

fizzique has been nice to have on the go with me and sip on in between clients and hold me over until I can sit and eat.  I used to chug protein shakes, but I love how fizzique is light and refreshing instead of heavy on my stomach.  I also don’t have to deal with the mess of protein powder because no matter what I do I manage to spill powder everywhere (even with a portable funnel). Pop the top and sip it’s a no mess and no fuss all the protein at 20g of protein Zero net carbs and only 80 calories.

You can get yours at fizzique, and if you use coupon code DEFIZZIQUE you can get 10% off your first case now through 7/31/2008!  Everyone who has tried it likes and I am sure you will too? What do you do to curb your cravings?

Fitness and Health Self Weightloss Journey

Your Skincare is affecting your weightloss

Our Skincare can be affecting our weight  loss

Our toxic intake is sabotaging our weight loss efforts! What if I told you that your lotion is causing you to gain weight? What if I said you that what you put on your body; or absorb from the environment that you live in will negate a “clean eating diet?”

If you’re washing your dishes with chemical-laden dish detergent then eating or drinking out of those dishes is a directly going into your bloodstream. Something that seems harmless such as your shampoo bottle ingredient labeled “fragrance” can contain over 4,000 compounds of toxic chemicals. Why is this allowed you asked? Because beauty products and skin care are under-regulated in the United States.

Honoring your temple is more than food and exercise

When considering honoring your temple people completely forget the mind which is crucial. They also neglect the outside of the body other than their appearance. When you think of healthy lifestyle or honoring your temple, you immediately associate it with your fitness and nutrition, but there is so much more.

Your Morning Routine is to blame

Just think about your daily hygiene routine.

Bathing: you use soap, lotion, deodorant, possibly shampoo and conditioner and maybe even a perfume or fragrance.

You brush your teeth with plastic toothbrush and toothpaste which has a small traces but still toxic chemicals. You may use the product to style your hair.

Even your Makeup can be affecting your weight loss

Makeup? And you are putting all of these products on the most significant organ of your body or in your mouth.  The concept of skin absorption is not new there are nicotine patches, birth control patches even appetite suppressants.

That’s because the largest organ in our body is also the most vulnerable when it comes to toxic absorption. Some of these chemicals are having adverse effects on your weight loss efforts.

toxic intake

What is a toxin?

I think a precise definition of what I mean by toxin is needed too. Toxins can cover a broad range of things-there are internal toxins which are normal standard bodily functions which God has designed in us to eliminate through our kidney and livers.

Then there are external toxins from pesticides, industrial chemicals, mercury and so much more these are the toxins that I am referring to.  These are the toxins that are building up in our bodies and leading our organs to become overworked causing illness and weight gain.  These toxins are absorbed into our bloodstream through our skin, mouth, nose and then stored in our fat cells.

How do toxins affect weight loss?

When we go to lose fat and weight the stored toxins in the fat cells are released into our body and then causes our metabolism to slow down. Adverse effects to cellular structure happen too which also causes illness’ such as cancer.

There have been hundreds of studies on the chemical toxins and the effects on your body during weight loss. The Obesity Review in 2003, researchers concluded that pesticides and Polychlorinated biphenyls, also known as PCBs (from industrial pollution) poison our metabolism when they are released from the stored fat tissue.

What can I do to reduce my toxin intake?

I could literally go on and on about the adverse effects that we are doing to our body daily, but I encourage you to research for yourself.

You will be shocked at what is really in your lotions and body care products and what they are doing to your body slowly but surely.

Here are some recommendations on

Five ways to detox and reduce your toxic intake.

1. Reduce and minimize your toxic intake.

Easier said than done, right? Eat foods that are minimally process, organic foods, drink filtered water (which is a post in the making about our water filters), foods that don’t contain “food additives“, foods that are free of hormonesantibiotics, artificial sweeteners, artificial food colors, or artificial flavorings that were not initially found in the food. Let’s take it back to nature what God provided before we modified it to look or taste more appealing. Eat Biblically Based!

2.Get rid of toxins through sweat!

Exercise regularly, the use of saunas in a healthy and safe manner. Pesticides and heavy metals can be excreted through your skin by sweating.Did you know that workers at Ground Zero after 9/11 were treated through sweating in saunas to eliminate the toxins that were absorbed while they were working?

3.Detox through food.

I have detoxed by eating foods after unwise choices. Usually, I do it three days at a time. There are a variety of foods that can help you do this. Make sure you follow step 1 when choosing the types of foods.Cruciferous vegetables like: broccoli, Brussels sprouts, kale, cauliflower, cabbage, dandelion greens, cilantro, garlic, citrus peels and cocoa (definitely remember step 1 when choosing your cocoa) and drinking green tea can help detox your body.

4.Water.

Your body is designed by God to flush itself, and people fail to realize that water helps flush fat which is where the toxins are stored, so it is a great way to detoxify your body.

5.Be conscious of the products that you use.

My family uses Giovanni for our shampoo and conditioner- its made of sulfite-free products and all natural no synthetic chemicals. We use coconut oil for our lotion, Unrefined virgin coconut oil that’s it.We use Piperwai deodorant which works really well for when I work out. Deodorant is placed so close to your lymph nodes. It was one of the first things, other than the lotion that I replaced.

After making my own and googling lots, I finally found one that worked, and I could be confident being around people after an intense workout session.I think the more that we educate ourselves, the better we can be as consumers.  Unfortunately, we will never be completely toxin free not in the world that we have tainted from God’s original creation. But we can reduce our exposure and rid ourselves as much as possible.  This will help with not only weight loss but also with our complete health and help us to honor our temples.

Have you ever considered your body care products being toxic? What are some things that you have done to reduce your toxin intake?

The Benefits of Collagen

Collagen is needed as We Age

Collagen is something I have always heard about but never really applied it to me until the last few years. I remember when I was younger seeing those Skincare commercials that would come on for aging skin and not even think about them. Now I start to take notice.  Now don’t get me wrong black women age well it’s the gift of melanin.

Nonetheless, we still age and elasticity, especially for someone who has lost a significant amount of weight, are not the same.  That is what initially peaked my interest in Collagen.  I was needed something to help this mom of three reduce her stretch marks and cellulite.

So, I gave it a try, and I found so many more benefits than the vanity of tighter skin. I found that it can help with my heart, liver, metabolism and so much more and I have been hooked ever since.

Age is a Number

When you hit the mid-twenties your ability to produce collagen begins to decrease the rapidness also increases as your age does. Depending on your diet you can add it, but most people don’t eat what they need to reverse the effects of aging.

That is why I recommend it  to my clients, friends, and anyone who says, “Man your hair looks really healthy.” I have been taking Collagen as a Supplement for over two years, and my hair is the healthiest, shiniest it has ever been.  My nails don’t get brittle during season changes anymore, and my skin has improved too.  A healthy lifestyle along with Collagen can be attributed to all of these things.

Collagen is such a natural, tasteless supplement that you can add to anything and get what you need for your body to function better. I have seven reasons why I suggest that you start finding creative ways to take it or just add it to your water bottle and chug away. No matter what you do, you should add this to your routine now!

7 Reasons you Need Collagen

7.  Helps to improve skins and nails

This is what initially made me seek Collagen as a supplement.  There was a study done with two group of women ages 35-55. Group A was given a placebo; group B was given one serving of collagen daily. (Schunck, Zague, Oesser, & Proksch 2015)

After eight weeks there was a visible improvement in the women who were given the Collagen skin tightness, moisture, roughness, appearance of stretch marks and cellulite.  There were also no adverse effects on the women who ingested the Collagen for eight weeks.  Like I said before, this is why I started using Collagen, but after a few weeks, your reasons would switch. Mine did!

6.  Helps with Digestive issues

Collagen has been known to really help patients who suffer from IBS, Chron’s disease, acid reflux and other digestive problems to help reduce or eliminate the symptoms.

It is an essential amino acid. It aids the connective tissue in your digestive system which can help “Seal and heal” your digestive lining. Usually, the cause of these issues is from inflammation of these connective tissues from poor diets of processed food.

A healthy diet that is not processed and adding Collagen to your diet can help restore the damage that has been done through poor diet choices.

5. Helps to reduce joint degeneration and joint pain

As we get older, the collagen that is in between our ones and joint begin to decrease. That is was cause the joint stiffness and aches and pains that we associate with aging.

Adding collagen supplements will help ease your joint discomfort as it will add that collagen that your body needs to provide less tension and more mobility in joints.  This is also fantastic for healing joint injuries and repair. I know that using it daily has helped me to recover from my ankle injury.

There have been studies that show athletes who increased there Collagen intake suffered less severe or no pain in previously injured joint injuries. (Clark, et al. 2008)

4. Helps to Boost your Muscle Mass, Metabolism and Energy

A study showed when you combine Vitamin C and Collagen it’s almost like magic, and it helps make the Collagen a more usable source of protein that is quickly absorbed. (Borumand & Sibilla 2014)

This is great when your body is seeking protein to build muscle or increasing your metabolism and an energy boost.  The Collagen Endurance has the perfect combination that makes this a great Pre or Post workout supplement.

Now, these boosts can only be seen with exercise activity, proper nutrition, and the consistently taking Collagen supplements for at least 12 weeks. I love drinking mine while I workout!

3.  Stronger Hair, Teeth, and nails

Collagen is the protein that is basically the foundation of your hair, nails, and teeth.  The degeneration of it as we age causes these things to weaken. Taking collagen will increase collagen  in your body that will make your hair, nails, and teeth stronger.

Personally, my nails are no longer brittle when the season change. My hair doesn’t get split ends as often. I don’t know if my teeth are stronger, but if I am the only Senior at the nursing home with my own teeth. I will be grateful for the collagen I took while I was young.

2. Increase your Liver Health

This one was a shocker, but as I was looking at research studies for Collagen, I found this to be very interesting and for some people could be life-saving.  Collagen is usually found in soft tissue and connective tissue.

The same “Seal and heal” Properties it has for your digestive lining you can think of the same concept for your liver. In the case of your liver in acts as an antioxidant in your liver. Flushing out the toxins and optimizing your liver health.

There are detox diets that promote a high amount of collagen intake for several days to reduce the effects of alcohol abuse and others things that can cause poor liver health.

I don’t recommend nor do I know if these detoxes work. There are studies that show that Collagen is great to cleanse your liver and support your health. (Mato & Lu 2007)

1.Helps you have a Healthy Heart

Collagen has been found through studies to help the body release fatty buildup that can be found on artery walls. (Nutrition Review, 2016) Allowing blood to flow optimally causing less stress on  the heart and allowing it to work at it’s best!

February being Heart Health Awareness month I found that this is the most important benefit of taking this supplement.

According to The Heart Truth, “Heart disease is the #1 killer of women in the United States.  One in four women dies of heart disease.  For African-American women, the risk of heart disease is especially great.  Heart disease is more prevalent among black women than white-women as are some of the factors that increase the risk of developing it, including high blood pressure, overweight and obesity, and diabetes.  But there’s good news too: You can take action and lower your chance of developing heart disease and its risk factors. In fact, women can lower their heart disease risk factors.  In fact, women can lower their heart disease by as much as 82 percent just by leading a healthy lifestyle.”

I would start by adding Collagen today!

What is Hydrolyzed Collagen?

It is a concentrated amino acid blend that is easier to digest, supports your bodies natural healing , doesn’t congile and is rapidly absorbed in your body for better nutrition.  It is great to help replace and repair cartilage damage and loss that is due to activity or aging.

Great Lakes gelatin is really affordable considering others in the market. It is the Original Collagen they were selling it before it was cool.  It’s taste great or actually the unflavored taste like nothing and it’s has one ingredient.  On-the-go convenient packets that you can take anywhere.

I have been trying my Great Lakes in everything from my oatmeal, smoothie bowls, soups, in my bulletproof coffee you name it.

So, if you don’t have any, grab you some, now because you should be living every day with GreatLakes Gelatin!

I also went LIVE on my Facebook Page the other day! It’s something NEW I am trying this year so I would love for you to Check it out and Subscribe and share if you found it helpful!

Do you  use Collagen? Did you know that you should be?
